Just like our columnist, the German-Austrian Corinna Busch. With her columns she wants to connect, exchange and stimulate discussions with her readers over long distances. The bush drum will mainly deal with the issues of partnership, relationships and our social change.

In the Casinos Austria case, there are new details about the high salaries of (ex) managers. The former long-time boss Karl Stoss received 214,000 euros for his six-month consultancy work according to “Austria” (Monday). His two-year consultancy contract was terminated prematurely, which would have provided even more: 150,000 euros gross per year for the equivalent of four hours of work per week.

According to the contract signed on May 18, 2017, Stoss should take over a consultancy activity for the state-owned Casinos Austria after he retired on July 1, 2017. The contract began on January 1, 2018, the gross remuneration was EUR 150.00 per year – for a time volume that should not exceed 10 percent of a full-time job. So that’s a maximum of four hours a week or 16 hours a month. Advice should be given “on a case-by-case basis as necessary”.

For the duration of the consultancy activity, Stoss (63) should be provided with “adequate infrastructure (office, secretariat, etc.), as well as” a company car and driver “.” Stoss is entitled to use the car including the chauffeur for private purposes. However, this regulation only applies as long as he actively works as a consultant, but for a maximum of 24 months “, says the contract, which was limited to 24 months.write me paper

In addition to the consultant’s fee, Stoss should also receive an “appropriate reimbursement of expenses”, in particular for travel expenses, to the “extent that he was entitled to on the basis of his executive board contract dated December 21, 2010”. The contract was signed by Stoss and “Roth …” (the signature is difficult to read) “for the CASAG / ÖLG Group”. The Casinos supervisory board chairman is Walther Rothensteiner.

Consultant work stopped in mid-2018

However, as of June 30, 2018, Stoss’ consultancy was stopped by mutual agreement by means of a “termination agreement”. For the termination of his six-month consultancy work, the native of Vorarlberg received a “one-time lump sum compensation” of 150,000 euros plus 20 percent sales tax on top of the 64,000 euros he had already received. “This compensation is to be paid out together with the outstanding bonus difference for the 2017 financial year, but no later than June 30, 2018,” says the agreement, which is dated April 10, 2018. The reason given for the termination of the consultancy agreement is “changed framework conditions”.

Casinos Austria confirmed to the APA that Stoss’ consultancy contract was prematurely terminated – “under General Director Alexander Labak, with the aim of making savings,” said Casinos spokesman Patrick Minar on Monday.

In addition, according to earlier media reports, Stoss receives an annual company pension of around EUR 550,000 gross from the casinos, in addition to his statutory pension. Casinos Austria did not comment on this.

Fees repeatedly cause a stir

The fees and pensions of the (former) board members of the state-owned gaming company have caused a stir in recent times, as have multi-million dollar transfer payments. Severance payments also play a role in the casino investigations by the Economic and Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (WKStA).

According to an earlier newspaper report, Stoss ‘successor at the top of the casinos, Labak, broached the issue of Stoss’ consultancy contract when he was questioned as a witness in December 2019.

The core of the criminal investigation into the casino affair is the question of whether the Lower Austrian Novomatic group has been promised gaming licenses for the appointment of the former FPÖ district politician Peter Sidlo as head of casinos. In the course of the investigation, there were raids among others at ex-vice chancellor and casino supervisory board Josef Pröll (ÖVP), ex-vice chancellor Heinz-Christian Strache (FPÖ) and Novomatic owner Johann Graf. All eleven accused deny the allegations, the presumption of innocence applies.

Sidlo was dismissed as CFO after just seven months, he has sued the casinos for payment of his contract; Value in dispute: EUR 2.3 million.

I’m starting to get serious worries. So about me. I actually thought about signing up for an online dating portal.

Dear friends out there, I don’t know about you – but this whole unknown flying object number that has been on the way for weeks, i.e. the corona virus, somehow sets strange things in motion for me. I suddenly notice things that I didn’t notice before. For example, yesterday at noon, after 2 weeks I started the washing machine again. Then I sit down at my desk to write this column and suddenly it started. I could have sworn that the unidentified flying object has finally landed in my bathroom to pick me up. An infernal noise echoed through my 39.85 square meter apartment. My washing machine had gone into the spin cycle. It also wobbled and jerked back and forth. It looked like she was about to take off for the next planet. I thought of all the madness we’re living in right now and was tempted for a short time to voluntarily tie myself to the washing machine just before departure. I ran frantically into the kitchen and looked for a thick cord – but suddenly: quiet. Departure postponed, spin cycle ended. Almost disappointed, I crept back to the desk. Since when has my washing machine been performing such dances? Is it already ‘on Corona’?

I’m starting to get serious worries. So about me. I actually thought about it one more time

Online Dating Portal

to register. Then, however, I remembered one of the strange messages I had received the last time from a male herd animal, it was called ‘luxury second hand’

Dear Ms. Corinna,

I would like to apply for the vacancy in your area. I read the description with interest and was able to get a first, pleasant impression based on your photos. My vita comprises several fields, which I would like to outline as follows. I’m 49 years old at the young at heart, male and the actual current height is 184 cm. I used to be blonde by nature (in terms of hair technology) and now I have a wide parting.

The current weight is 89 kg, which mostly consists of muscles (of course …) ;-). In order to keep this dream body in shape, I often go to a nearby gym to strengthen my muscles.

By nearby I mean the neighboring town of the beautiful city of Heidelberg, where I have my one-room residence. Professionally, I’ve been criss-crossing Germany for a long time. What do I do for a living? Well, I’m a successful SAP consultant in a trading group. If that tells you something, SAP consultant, great! If not, it’s not that bad either. There are of course side effects in my life. Let’s start with the positives: I have two boys. Negative: You don’t live with me, but with your mother, with whom I am currently in the divorce war. All three do not live in Heidelberg, but in the married house just outside Heidelberg. I save details, but my offer for a personal interview is also valid here to find out more.

In addition to work and all other inconveniences, I try to relax with sports, by visiting friends (friends are very important!), At the cinema, while reading or just relaxing in front of the TV. Now and then a good meal is also good. If you, dear Ms. Corinna, have been deeply impressed by my letter of application, then I would be very happy to receive a personal interview.

I can keep appointments best from Monday to Wednesday. Hoping for a positive answer from you, I remain with best regards, Thomas.

I had a lot of trouble to find the ‘luxury’ component of his profile name in his lines, but the second-hand aspect clearly resonated with me. I was really grateful to the candidate for sparing me details about his current divorce war.

The man seemed to me to be pretty battered from the battle shortly after Heidelberg and I decided to stay away from this battlefield. After all, at the moment we all have thick necks and our challenges.

The Freedom Party started their campaign against GIS fees on Monday. In addition to an online petition to abolish the fees, the FPÖ will also launch an information campaign about the use of the ORF without fees, in a “legal way”, declared the FPÖ boss

Norbert Hofer

at a press conference on Monday.

For example, companies are currently already offering monitors without a receiver, ie devices on which content can be streamed “completely legally”, “without paying a cent to GIS,” says Hofer. The second option is to have the tuner professionally expanded.

For their online petition, the Freedom Party have the Internet address “

www.wegmitgis.at

Corresponding declarations of support could be signed there from today, emphasized Hofer, who hopes for great support from the population in this regard.

Model “more than obsolete”

The current situation is that ORF works like pay TV, but that you cannot make your own choice, but are forced by the state as soon as you own a television, according to the FPÖ boss. This model is more than outdated. The cancellation of the GIS had therefore already been agreed with the ÖVP, but, as is well known, that did not happen. However, Hofer still identified forces in the People’s Party who would see it that way. The current turquoise-green government program, however, is sticking to the current model.

According to Hofer, the “best way” for financing ORF would be a subscription model. At the same time, public funding should be introduced for content under public law. However, all broadcasters, including private ones, should enjoy this as soon as they have the relevant content in their program.

Criticism of “lack of balance”

FPÖ General Secretary Michael Schnedlitz criticized above all the lack of balance and fairness in the reporting of the ORF, especially towards the Freedom Party, as well as the quality of the program in general. Overall, there is a “huge budget pot of questionable performance”. There is also a need for more transparency with regard to the salaries of the ORF management and a discussion about the additional income of journalists, so Schnedlitz.

A parliamentary initiative with corresponding motions and the involvement of the population are to follow as the second and third pillars of the campaign.
